Asian Americans Advancing Justice and Hollaback! are partnering for two virtual workshops on bystander intervention to help teach people the skills needed to address anti-Asian/Asian American bias and harassment that has become more and more prevalent as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The first workshop will take place on Wednesday, April 8 at 7:00pm EST and the second workshop will take place on Thursday, April 9 at 2:30pm EST.
The one-hour, interactive workshops will teach participants Hollaback!'s 5D's of bystander intervention methodology. They will discuss the types of disrespect that Asian and Asian American folks are facing right, what to look for and the positive impact that bystander intervention has on individuals and communities, and strategies for intervention. Participants will be given time to practice these skills at the end of the workshop and will leave feeling more confident intervening the next time they see Anti-Asian and Asian American harassment online or in-person.
