To facilitate important conversations about race the Extension Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force in collaboration with the CFAES Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will be hosting a book club that will meet throughout 2021.
All CFAES staff and faculty are eligible to participate. We will be reading and discussing the book Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria? by Beverly Daniel Tatum. One chapter will be assigned each month from January - December.
There are two ways to participate in the book club:
- Synchronously via Zoom - participants will meet at noon on the third Friday of each month* for a one-hour facilitated discussion. *the first discussion will be held on January 22
- Asynchronously via Microsoft Teams - participants will be added to a Team where they can view, post and comment on responses to discussion questions. The Team will be moderated by a facilitator.
Register today at go.osu.edu/DEIBook2021. To ensure plenty of time to receive a copy of the book and prepare for the first meeting please register by January 8.
If you have any questions, please contact Jenny Lobb (lobb.3@osu.edu).
