Equity, Inclusion, and Student Success
Current conversations challenge us to a higher level. You want to…
- Be seen
- Be heard
Each of you come to us from someplace different. From across the country or across the globe? You are welcome in CFAES.
CFAES strives to be a place that embraces you and all you bring. Task us to provide a climate that accepts, provides safe space, and values you. Your active participation is needed on the journey to be inclusive, equitable, and just. Bystanding equals silence so: please get involved!
Build skills through leadership and engagement as a member of MANRRS (Multicultural students in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences) or another student club, be a voice in conversations, travel the country on service trips or for leadership workshops, stretch your experiences through programs such as Education Abroad in Panama: Through the Lens of AgriCulture, Sustainability, and Diversity, or other study abroad programs, tour facilities who strive to create more inclusive environments, engage with our alumni.
Experience harm along the way? We believe you. Our entire DEI team is here to talk, to support or just listen.
Graduate Student Support
In addition to helping to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone in CFAES, the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion also offers support programming to our graduate students. Currently, we host Graduate Student Dissertation/Thesis Write-Ins that give students the opportunity to work in a quiet environment to help them make progress on their research. We also host Graduate Student Support Group meetings that are open to all Ohio State graduate students and serves as a safe and confidential network to help graduate students manage the challenges that arise during this exciting, but stressful chapter in their lives. Our support group offers meetings for students on both the Columbus and Wooster campuses.
Have questions about our student support programming or want to know how to get involved? Email Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion's Program Manager for Faculty and Staff Affairs, Dr. Leo Taylor (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information.
